Fake? South Africa government’s tweet about the Bolt battle surfaces on social media

SA Government Comments on the Bolt Battle Between Nigerians and South Africans

The ongoing Bolt challenge between Nigeria and South Africa has escalated, prompting a reaction from the South African Government.

On Thursday, tensions rose as South Africans, known locally as “Mzansi,” began ordering Bolt rides in Nigeria, leading to a strong response from Nigerians who booked rides across South Africa in retaliation.

As the challenge intensified, a screenshot of a tweet, allegedly from the South African Government, surfaced on social media. The tweet read, “Congratulations to Nigeria for winning the Bolt Challenge! Your dedication and spirit are truly inspiring. Now that it’s over, let’s ensure rides stay local – support your own!”

While some users believe the tweet was genuine, others speculate that it was a fake post. A few Twitter users claimed the South African Government quickly deleted the tweet, adding to the controversy.

What do you think? Was the tweet real or just a hoax?
