On this day 10 years ago, a kid named Cudi released his seminal debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. The influence of Cudder’s major label debut is undeniable. To celebrate the 10th birthday of the project, Cudi hopped on Twitter on Sunday (Sept. 15) to reminisce about the history made on his official introduction to the world.

G.O.O.D. Music

“10 years!!! Here we are!!” the Ohio rapper tweeted. “@DotDaGenius @plainpat @EmileHaynie I LOVE YALL!!! Couldn’t have done it with out my brothers by my side!!! We made history and inspired so many. We did what we came to do and still do today!! God is sooo good!”

He continued, “Life is wild man…If you ever bumped this album and embraced me for being me, I thank you! Made me not feel so alone in the world.”

Released via G.O.O.D. Music, Cudi’s debut was spearheaded by the singles “Day ‘n’ Nite (Nightmare),” “Make Her Say” featuring Kanye West and Common, and “Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare)” featuring MGMT and Ratatat. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 after moving 104,000 units in its first week.

Cudi is currently hard at work on his new album, Entergalactic, which is slated to drop next year.

“New music next year!!” the rapper tweeted on May 17. “Gonna work the rest of this year. In no rush to do anything right now. I dont drop albums every year anymore. Gotta give myself time to do other things. And relax!”

In July, he revealed he will also be coming out with a Netflix show based on the new LP.
