Makhadzi reportedly turns down R150k offer to perform at a festival

Makhadzi Explains Why She Won’t Perform at Phalaphala Royal Heritage Festival

Makhadzi has reportedly turned down R150,000 from the organizers of the Phalaphala Royal Heritage Festival.

The award-winning musician has been a loyal performer at the festival for years, but this year, things have taken a different turn.

Amidst swirling rumors and reports about Makhadzi rejecting the offer, she took to social media to clarify the situation.

“I am not going to Phalaphala Royal Heritage; they say they don’t have a budget. I am setting the record straight so that my fans and followers don’t think I refused to be there intentionally or that I’m becoming big-headed,” she wrote.

“I realized that there were already false rumors spreading about my name in this regard. I’m still Makhadzi of the nation under the motto: no pay, no job, and vice versa,” she added.

Makhadzi also mentioned that she’s focused on organizing her upcoming One Woman Show at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 21 December, and understands that organizers may not book an artist without the proper budget.

Makhadzi will be hosting her One Woman Show on the same day as the festival. The show, scheduled for December, is already nearing a sell-out.
