Tomi Lahren Slams Jay-Z’s NFL Partnership: “Apparently the League Doesn’t Hate America Enough”

297 min read

Tomi Lahren is not happy with the NFL’s decision to work with Jay-Z.

Late on Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 14), the far-right political commentator gave her unprovoked opinion on Jay-Z and Roc Nation’s moves to work with the NFL to produce their Super Bowl halftime show. Lahren, whose horrid relationship with hip-hop hasn’t gotten any better, decided to vent her thoughts about her beloved NFL’s partnership with Hov.

“Jay-Z will be consulting with the NFL for the Super Bowl halftime show and other performances because apparently the league doesn’t hate America and law enforcement officers at a level satisfactory enough for the former drug dealer,” Lahren tweeted.

Before Lahren said her piece, The New York Times reported that Hov will partner with the NFL to oversee several entertainment options for the league. The Roc Nation founder and his team will also be overseeing some of the NFL’s social justice endeavors. Jay-Z has been named the league’s “live music entertainment strategist,” who is responsible for overseeing the Super Bowl halftime show.

“I think we have autonomy,” Jay said. “I anticipate that there will be a lot of — with any big organization, in this building right here we have internal problems. Anything that’s new is going to go through its growing pains. We put what we want to do on the table. The NFL agreed to it. So we’re gonna proceed with that as if we have a partnership.”

It’s probable that Hov won’t respond directly to Lahren the way that Wale, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj and other have in the past. For now, check out XXL’s video on Tomi Lahren’s bad relationship with hip-hop below.
