Tyla Wins Billboard’s Award

South African star, Tyla has accepted the Global Impact award at Billboard’s R&B No.1s 2024 party.

The singer’s hit song, “Water,” has gained her multiple recognitions and secured the top spot on Billboard’s charts.

The single earned her first Hot 100 Top 10 hit, spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the mainstream R&B Hip Hop Airplay chart, and has been No. 1 on the US Afrobeats Songs chart for 46 weeks and counting. The song also won her the inaugural Best African Music Performance Grammy award earlier this year.

Tyla accepted the award with excitement and gratitude, thanking everyone who has supported her journey.

“I remember when everyone used to feel like this was so unattainable, especially from where I’m from,” the singer said during her speech.
