XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Requests Bond

272 min read

One of the four men arrested for the murder of XXXTentacion has just requested bond.

According to court documents filed in Florida’s Broward County on Tuesday (Sept. 17), Trayvon Newsome, whom prosecutors say brandished a pistol during the June 18, 2018 murder of XXXTentacion, wants a judge to set his bond for the case

In the new documents, Newsome’s lawyer states, in part: “Defendant is presently being denied bond. Defendant is entitled to bond as a matter or right, unless proof is evidence and the presumption of guilt is great.”

Newsome was arrested for the killing of XXXTentacion on Aug. 7, 2018. He had been indicted for first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm less than a month beforehand, but police hadn’t yet captured him.

Newsome was the fourth and last person arrested for the killing. Robert AllenDedrick D. Williams and Michael Boatwright were the first three arrested for the crime. Prosecutors say Newsome approached X with a gun during the robbery that preceded the shooting, but that it was Boatwright who actually shot the rapper.

This news arrives nearly two weeks after the release of XXXTentacion’s ? (Deluxe) album, a re-release that includes previously unreleased voice memos, a Rico Nasty-assisted new version of his 2017 song “#ProudCatOwner” and more.

The deluxe edition of X’s album will eventually be followed by the release of Bad Vibes Forever, an LP that is set to include features from Lil Wayne and Blink-182. His first posthumously released LP was Skins, which hit the internet last December.
